How It Works

Initiate Call

The customer receives a secure link via SMS or email and joins the video call from any device. The agent's dashboard loads the assigned workflow checklist, pre-populated with all required verification steps for the specific product type.

Follow Custom Checklist

The agent guides the customer through each step -- ID capture, face verification, document review, e-signature, OTP confirmation -- following the prescribed order. Each completed step is logged with timestamps and evidence artifacts.

Mandatory Session Recording

As mandated by the RBI Master Direction on KYC (Section 18), every V-CIP session must be recorded end-to-end with synchronized audio and video. BASEKYC automatically records all sessions in tamper-proof encrypted archives with SHA-256 hash verification, ensuring recordings cannot be altered post-session and are readily available for regulatory audits.

Geo-Tagging & Location Verification

RBI V-CIP guidelines require geo-tagging of the customer's live location during the video session. BASEKYC captures GPS coordinates with the customer's consent, cross-references them against the declared address, and logs location data as part of the audit trail. IP-based geolocation serves as an additional verification layer for added assurance.

Agent Identification & Authorization

Per RBI norms, only authorized officials may conduct V-CIP sessions. BASEKYC enforces multi-factor agent authentication before session start, displays the agent's name and employee ID to the customer on-screen, and logs which agent conducted each session. Supervisory review workflows ensure senior compliance officers can audit and approve sessions as required.

Audit Trail & Document Retention

Every action during the video call -- document capture, face match, OTP verification, e-signature -- is timestamped and logged in an immutable audit trail. This meets the record-keeping requirements under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and RBI Master Direction on KYC, with configurable retention periods of up to 10 years as mandated by regulation.
